چکیده
In confronting the “Memory Wall”, design of embedded vision systems exhibits many challenges regarding cost, energy consumption, and performance. This paper considers a variant Job Shop Scheduling Problem with tooling constraints, arising in this context, which completion time (makespan) is to be minimized. objective corresponds performance produced circuit. We discuss different formulations using integer linear programming point out their characteristics, namely size quality relaxation bound. To solve scheduling problem large size, we compare various approaches, including Constraint Programming model, two constructive greedy heuristics, models LocalSolver, Simulated Annealing algorithm, Beam Search algorithm. Numerical experiments are conducted on 16 benchmark instances from literature 12 real-life non-linear image processing kernels for validating efficiency.

Minimizing Energy Under Performance Constraints on Embedded Platforms
This paper explores the problem of energy optimization in embedded platforms. Specifically, it studies resource allocation strategies for meeting performance constraints with minimal energy consumption. We present a comparison of solutions for both homogeneous and single-ISA heterogeneous multi-core embedded systems. We demonstrate that different hardware platforms have fundamentally different ...
متن کاملMinimizing a Makespan Under Uncertainty
This paper reconsiders the most basic scheduling problem, that of minimizing the makespan of a partially ordered set of activities, in the context of incomplete knowledge. After positioning this paper in the scope of temporal networks under uncertainty, we provide a complete solution to the problem of finding floats of activities, and of locating surely critical ones, as they are often isolated...

15 صفحه اولMinimizing the expected makespan of a project with stochastic activity durations under resource constraints
The resource-constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) has been widely studied. A fundamental assumption of the basic type of RCPSP is that activity durations are deterministic (i.e., they are known in advance). In reality, however, this is almost never the case. In this article we illustrate why it is important to incorporate activity duration uncertainty, and develop an exact procedure t...
